Our Denise licensed to be Diocesan Chaplain among Deaf

This week on Tuesday, 22nd June, Denise Teal was licensed by the Bishop of Sheffield to be Diocesan Chaplain among Deaf. The ceremony had Deaf representatives present and the Archdeacon Javaid. Denise has served the church’s Deaf communities for over 20 years and it has meant signing at funerals and conferences, Deaf clubs and other church services. Her readership training included placement with both regular church and with northern chaplains for the Deaf and my service over the years has taken me to a number of Deaf gatherings and faith conferences outside our Diocese. Denise has asked if we would continue to pray for her and the work she is doing.

Many congratulations Denise, with much love from all your friends in the Rivers Team
